Vic: Man dies when car hits trees

A man died this morning when his car hit several trees on a median strip and caught
fire on Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula.

Police say the man was alone in his car, driving towards the city on the Frankston
Freeway when the accident happened about 2am (AEST).

Police are yet to identify the man and are preparing a report for the coroner.

Victoria's road toll is 216, the same as it was this time last year.
