FED:Gillard makes last bid for votes

SYDNEY, Aug 21 AAP - Prime Minister Julia Gillard is making a final bid for the support
of voters, campaigning in the seat of Lindsay in Sydney's west as Australians around the
country go to the polls.

The last-ditch push for support comes as two polls show the likely result of Saturday's
election is still too close to call.

A Nielsen poll, published in Fairfax newspapers, shows Labor clinging to a 52-48 per
cent lead on a two-party preferred basis.

However, a Newspoll published in News Ltd papers, shows an even tighter contest with
the ALP holding a 50.2 per cent to 49.8 per cent lead.

Mr Gillard is expected in Melbourne about lunchtime at Seabrook Primary School in her
electorate of Lalor, where she will cast her vote.
