FED: Macklin announces Aboriginal communities to receive funds

The Rudd government's announced the remote indigenous communities which will be prioritised
for new housing and upgrades to other vital infrastructure.

Indigenous Affairs Minister JENNY MACKLIN said earlier this year 26 remote communities
will be targeted based on their potential to be turned into hubs of economic development.

She's now revealed 15 are in the Northern Territory .. four are in Queensland .. three
are in Western Australia .. two are in South Australia and two are in New South Wales.

They'll share 5.5 billion dollars set aside for new housing over the next 10 years
.. and funding for streetlights .. extra police .. community halls .. schools and health
clinics.
